Lullaby for a Stormy Night.
Sometimes we project our romantic desires onto others, then internalize them as though as though they were true. Sometimes a flirtatious smile, comment, or gesture can be read as having more meaning than was originally intended. We incubate them, until they grow to have a life of their own.
